Job Description

The Sales Compensation Team is responsible for creating, implementing and managing competitive compensation programs in support of sales oriented business unit clients. Sales Compensation informs and leads cross-functional teams in all aspects of compensation policies, practices and compliance including sales incentive plan design and goal setting initiatives. Through collaboration with business unit clients, HR and Finance partners, ensures program alignment with business unit strategies and Enterprise-wide objectives.

Strategic Planning/Design

  • Understand the overall strategy
  • Assist in design of compensation practices/policies that are cost effective, competitive and attracts/retains quality employees
  • Provide input related to compensation design options and recommendations
  • Monitor sales compensation governance protocols.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative trend data to draw conclusions to help drive business results

Analyze and interpret compensation trends to assess and review current compensation practices

Client Services

Build relationships with client groups to institutionalize compensation philosophies and provide on-going consultation. Actively work with business partners, client services and HR Areas of Responsibilities (AORs) to ensure that compensation practices are understood and supported. Actively participate in the delivery of core compensation initiatives. Also work with client to gain in depth knowledge of client business objectives.

  • Respond to internal inquiries on compensation practices and policies
  • Actively participate in business transformation initiatives with clients
  • Support internal client communications, training and education related to sales incentive plans
  • Support validation of sales incentive payouts accuracy for monthly, quarterly and annual sales incentive plans
  • Support internal client communications, training and education related to sales incentive plans
  • Respond to internal inquiries on compensation and sales incentive design, practices and policies

Compensation Technology

  • Manage, review and assess issues with compensation tool and other compensation technologies Knowledge of escalation processes (Tickets, MEFs, PCRs)
  • Work with manager on development and implementation of key technology initiatives and PCRs
  • Build relationship with internal Project Manager, HR Project Management Office (PMO) and Vendor (IBM)
  • Play a key role with annual system preparation and change management

Communication Development and Execution:

  • Work with manager to understand communication strategy based on key initiatives
  • Support Project Manager with annual communications and projects
  • Build relationship with HR Communication team

Compensation Education and Training for Leaders:

  • Contribute to the development of strategy, training schedule and communications
  • Support development of training material
  • Support coordination of training schedule
  • Create materials, such as presentations and FAQs

Vendor Management:

  • Support vendor relationships to ensure effective delivery of services

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting or related area
  • Experience: 2-4 years of equivalent work experience; compensation familiarity preferred
  • Professional with good organizational, communication and administrative skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of business software, including Excel
  • Intermediate to advanced analytical skills
  • Intermediate project management
  • Intermediate technical experience in compensation, finance or accounting
  • Prior experience in managing technology platforms and developing communications preferred but not required
  • Intermediate time management skills including ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and organize
  • Good business writing skills
  • Ability to establish, manage and leverage relationships with internal and external partners
  • Creative thinking and problem solving
