Job Description

What you will do:

As a Contents Adjuster, you will visit loss sites and inspect the contents of a home to determine if the contents need to be replaced, repaired or cleaned as the result of a covered loss. After the inspection, you will write an estimate for the total damage amount and educate the customer on the estimate written. You will then provide a settlement to the customer in accordance with company guidelines. In addition to working directly with the customer, you will also be responsible for overseeing the vendors who are either repairing or cleaning the damaged items. You will be expected to handle these claims in a timely, customer focus, and ethical manner.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Investigate, review, determine and verify basic coverage/policy information
  • Provide coverage explanation to customer
  • Notify insured of exposure over the policy limit
  • Organize and reconcile bills
  • Review mitigation bills
  • Examine basic contents inventory, contents pricing and mitigation bills
  • Conduct fast track estimating
  • Handle additional living expense claims

Job Qualifications

If you meet the following, we encourage you to apply

  • Prior contents estimating experience or merchandising experience
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Ability to interact effectively, and coach others on interacting effectively, with internal or external customers and act with empathy
  • Proven ability to work independently with little or no supervision
