Job Description

Allstate Insurance Company has an exceptional career opportunity for an Auto / Property Investigator with our Special Investigation Unit in Atlanta, GA.

As an Allstate SIU Investigator you will be responsible for investigating claims to detect or deter fraud in accordance with state guidelines and Allstate policies and procedures. Your work will be conducted both in an office and in the field investigating potentially fraudulent insurance claims. You will be responsible for investigating claims and damages that may be a result of fire, theft and other causes within the property and auto disciplines, along with complex case development. Additionally, investigations may include businesses related to the submission of these claims and the direct filing of claims or documents in support of the claims under investigation.

Your investigations may include analysis of vehicle or property damages, interviewing parties and witnesses to the loss, obtaining statements and evidence, partnering with Origin & Cause experts, Law Enforcement, Attorney (staff and retained) and assisting in the evaluation of these claims. This work will require regular field work to loss sites and involved parties throughout the State. Occasional overnight travel can be expected for investigation of larger or more complex losses and / or geographical area of the loss.

Laptop computer technology is used to document investigation plans and results, as well as for searching internet resources and databases for information relevant to the investigation of the claim.

Excellent investigational and analytical skills are a key skill set for this position. Customer service and working as a team player with SIU employees and employees in other Allstate departments are also a requirement of this position.

Local travel will be required for the position.

Job Qualifications

  • Four year college degree
  • Prior insurance adjuster investigator experience (5+ years )
  • Prior SIU or field investigation experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  • Persistence and the ability to work through and solve problems
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
