Job Description

Allstate Insurance Company has an exceptional career opportunity for an Experienced Field Auto Adjuster in Naperville, IL!

Under limited supervision, this job is responsible for providing a superior level of customer service and attention to customers who have a vehicle that needs repaired. The individual inspects damage to a vehicle (which may include automobiles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and recreational vehicles), writes damage repair estimates, negotiates complex settlements with repair facilities, and estimates repair times for rental/loss of use. This individual is also responsible for explaining coverage, estimates, claims, settlement, and rental processes to agents and/or customers. The individual delivers compassionate service that is fast, fair, and easy, to ensure customer retention. This role may be performed at a drive-in location or in the Field. The individual provides work guidance and direction to less senior employees. The individual works independently, prioritizing the individual's own responsibilities, and managing the individual's own workload. The individual also consistently meets band level behaviors, production, quality, and/or customer service goals.

Job Requirements:

  • Makes and maintains a connection with the customer by understanding and meeting their needs; serves the customer with empathy; and follows up to ensure that customer needs have been met
  • Researches and responds to complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts or issues
  • Reviews customer satisfaction results; participates in determining necessary personal and business unit action plans
  • Summarizes documents and enters into claim system notes
  • Documents a claim file with notes, evaluations and decision making process
  • Investigates complex files, reviews damage, takes photos, and determines reparability or total loss
  • Prepares damage estimates for complex claims and locates parts
  • Prepares, reviews, reconciles and/or approves supplements
  • Conditions vehicles and prepares report for customer
  • Determines valuation of salvage
  • Evaluates diminished value in a complex claim
  • Processes claims payments
  • Initiates system generated checks and pays appropriate parties
  • Negotiates and settles complex claims in accordance with business unit best practices
  • Responds to complex arbitrations contentions
  • May participate in one or more complex special assignments
  • May serve as a committee team lead for medium-sized projects or as a committee team member on large projects

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree a plus or Certified Collision Repair or Auto body Technician program or High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Minimum of 5 years of auto estimating experience preferred
  • Proven record for delivering outstanding customer service
  • Collision estimating experience desirable
  • ICAR platinum certification, ASE certification and/or an Adjuster's license are especially desirable
  • Previous experience using a computer estimating system such as ADP, CCC or Mitchell is a definite plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
