Job Description

Allstate Insurance Company has an excellent career opportunity for an Executive Administrative Assistant in Northbrook, IL!

The Executive Administrative Assistant will provide varied administrative support to Life Underwriting and Life Claims within Allstate Life and Retirement (ALR). They will provide support to multiple managers and staff by applying in-depth knowledge of department policy and organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the department's remote workers and home based workers community by:
  • Ordering hardware and supplies and ensuring delivery
  • Providing support as needed for computer set up and technical issues that arise
  • PC maintenance
  • Communicate and initiate oral and written responses to inquiries regarding routine situations/announcements
  • Effectively communicate with multiple senior leaders and work closely with other admins in the department
  • Independently use PowerPoint along with all of Microsoft office to prepare presentations, budgeting, expense reports, etc.
  • Identify, initiate, recommend, and implement corrective action within workgroup and recommend opportunities for improvement
  • Handle multiple demands on an on-going basis including difficult situations
  • Assimilate, gather, and summarize detailed information for a response/decision
  • Train and lead routine work processes
  • High level of contacts and exposure to sensitive information requiring the use of tact and judgment
  • Capable of independent judgment when solving problems on own

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of major department/business unit functions
  • Experience with minimal technology support (computer and phone set-up, maintenance and troubleshooting)
  • Advanced command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills using pleasant interpersonal skills
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to proof one's own work as well as the work of others
  • Able to assess work load and re-prioritize as needed, handling multiple task under tight deadlines
  • Maintains an advanced degree of confidentiality and sense of urgency
  • Ability to work under pressure as well as the ability to deal with interruptions and other unexpected events and make necessary adjustments
  • Ability to influence and persuade various internal and external constituents to drive projects to completion
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
