Job Family Summary
The Ivantage Accounting Operations team is responsible for various operational processes such as agency and expanded market vendor commissions processing, monthly closing processes, and reporting of consolidated GAAP & Statutory financial results. The team is accountable for ensuring that processes meet the needs of agents and various other internal and external stakeholders, including expanded market vendors.

Job Summary
The Accounting Operations Consultant ll conducts regular analyses of all existing accounting processes to determine the accuracy of each entry in the accounting system; as well as, contributes to the planning, development, and implementation of any corrections need. This role is accountable for the accuracy and integrity Account Payables and Account Receivables, including the input transactions to the receivable/payable system, writing checks and posting to customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibits strong understanding of core business processes as it relates to a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department
  • Allocates day-to-day operations for the team of accounting operations analysts, delegates clearly and comfortably when managing and prioritizing workloads, and provide feedback on performance
  • Ensures compliance with all accounting standards and reporting guidelines issued by the FASB, SEC and NAIC.
  • Leverage analytical and technical tools, such as Excel, Business Intelligence and SAP, to research and answer moderate to complex accounting related questions and communicate findings clearly
  • Proactively investigate questionable data and trends and escalate findings where appropriate
  • Identifies, clarifies and resolves the evaluation of existing procedures and processes for improvement and provides recommendations to leadership to guide decision making
  • With direction, participates and contributes to accounting operational and technical projects of moderate complexity and scope
  • Work collaboratively within the team and across the department


Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree. Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 2+ years of prior accounting or related experience
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable experience preferred
  • Agent commission processing knowledge a plus.
  • Solid PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Office
  • Knowledge of SAP accounting system a plus
  • Beginner general knowledge of GAAP. Insurance knowledge a plus
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well with and effectively with others on a team
  • Intellectual curiosity and drive for continuous improvement - personally and with work assignments.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment
