Job Summary

The Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) Specialist is responsible for the administration of the SoftwareHouse C-Cure 9000 physical access control system across the Allstate enterprise. This includes the configuration of servers and field equipment, maintenance of the user database and their associated roles and the issuance of their credentials and maintaining the overall availability and ongoing maintenance and upgrade of this system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the short term and long term operational performance of the SoftwareHouse C-Cure 9000 access control system.
  • Act as system administrator of the C-Cure 9000 system and manage the team that supports this critical business system.
  • Maintain the necessary certifications, across the system's capabilities to optimize overall system performance and functionality.
  • Support the Physical Security System Manager.
  • Work with the network Video Management System (VMS) Manager to optimize the integration of the network VMS with the PACS.
  • Work with SoftwareHouse and other system vendors (e.g. credentials, readers, and biometrics) to understand and provide input into the product roadmap so that its functionality best meets Allstate's short and long term needs.
  • Configure and generate reports as necessary to support the Physical Security System Manager and Allstate business objectives in general.
  • Maintain and update the system configuration as necessary and as directed by the Physical Security System Manager.
  • Perform back-ups as necessary.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and support.
  • Provide on-call support of C-Cure 9000 systems in emergency situations.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience

  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in a physical security systems integration, security systems or security technology/administrator role.
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge and strong aptitude with physical security systems, and certification in SoftwareHouse C-Cure 9000.
  • Working knowledge of smart cards and biometrics.
  • Working knowledge of network communications.
  • Working knowledge of digital certificates, public key infrastructure and transport layer security desirable.
  • Working knowledge of networking, personal computers, Windows® operating systems, MS Office, and internet protocol.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity and network security best practices.
  • Experience and knowledge of Allstate information technology tools including SharePoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and manage and support other system users.
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task, problem solve and participate in cross-functional teams
  • Ability for travel is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science, criminal justice or related field desirable.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job
