Job Description

Alion Science and Technology is seeking a Senior RF Systems Engineer to provide hands-on evaluation, testing, diagnostics, and repair of foreign assets in support of providing the United States Intelligence Community with highly technical information on foreign adversary capabilities. The RF Engineer will exploit foreign weapon systems such as aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, aerodynamic weapons, space systems, ballistic missiles, and associated subsystems to establish their design, performance capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities. The Sr. RF Systems Engineer must be able to work independently and in teams.

In this position you will be supporting the Foreign Materiel Exploitation (FME) Squadron of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). The mission objective is to help U.S. warfighters maintain their competitive edge by enabling the execution of timely exploitation of foreign aerospace and electronic systems for FME's Global Exploitation Intelligence Group. Job Requirements:

Engineer with 15+ years of hands-on experience in the design, or reverse engineering, of various complex RF systems. Examples include Radios, Communication Links, Satellite Navigation Systems, Radars, Jammers, etc.

Working experience with microwave instrumentation and components operating in the 100 MHz to 40 GHz frequency range; to include: network and spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, power meters, couplers, hybrids, etc.

Ability to develop test plans, analyze test data, write technical reports, and give technical presentations.

Experience with Matlab, Altium, and AutoCad

Self-Motivated and goal oriented

Ability to mentor junior engineers and instruct technicians in measurement techniques and methods

Must be a US citizen

Candidates must hold an active DoD Secret clearance and be eligible for a Top Secret/SCI Clearance and additional clearances commensurate to their involvement with the USG.

Preferred additional skills:

Board layout, PCB fabrication knowledge, soldering, and PCB repair

Near Field Antenna measurement techniques

Experience with X-midas data and associated recording systems

Familiarity with the theory and application of modern digital communications techniques

Radar waveform familiarity and counter techniques

Security Clearance: Secret
