Sr. Paralegal

This position conducts research and resolves routine legal questions under the direction of an attorney. Engages in a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to those calling for judgment and independent initiative. Provides research and support activity and counsel and advises company personnel on routine matters.

Support various functions (with an emphasis on Tech Ops), including draft, review and edit complex agreements (including without limitation supply, manufacturing, and construction agreements) independently or under minimal supervision. Maintain contract templates to ensure compliance with legal and company requirements. Assist attorney in negotiations of agreements and transaction projects. Manage drafted agreements, renewals and amendments via contract system. Assist in project management of transaction projects. Negotiate certain types of agreements. Assist attorney in negotiations of transaction projects. Interface with Alcon client groups and outside vendors in processing of agreements. Take lead role in project management of complex agreements and to some extent transaction projects. Interface with Alcon client groups and outside vendors in processing agreements. Educate internal clients on use of individual template agreements, agreement-related issues and related company policies. Identify legal, financial and business contract issues. Assist attorneys in gathering data for transaction projects, such as acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and critical supply or sales transactions. Organize transactional document productions, such as for HSR filings. Assist attorneys with other projects, as requested.
