Sr Manager US Strategic Insights

To lead Strategic Insights (SI) initiatives for brand or Therapeutic Areas (TAs) in the development of Market Research to support commercial or franchise management business objectives; to demonstrate strong understanding of SI and spearhead initiatives, align stakeholders on objectives and deliverables and implement best practices according to recognized standards and legal and ethical processes; to define needs and deliver SI information to core business functions, recruit talent and provide training and guidance to analysts.

  • Acts as primary point of contact for brand and/or Franchise to lead the design, development and implementation of market research to support strategic and/or executional business projects and constructively challenges brand teams.
  • Actively partners with brand and/or Franchise to identify key areas of opportunity which require insights support; partners and engages Global SI in research and insights to drive superior business performance, where applicable.
  • Translates customer insights and competitive findings into business recommendations that deliver current and future business success for the TAs (e.g. launch tracking, segmentation, share of voice, messaging, obstacle handling, forecasting/demand modeling, etc.)
  • Actively synthesizes, communicates and delivers customer insights and integrated SI recommendations to a variety of internal stakeholders to inform business decisions that support strategy within the function.
  • Supports the Marketing Planning (US Region) & Strategy development process by leading comprehensive analysis of the business, markets, customers and competition to identify opportunities to drive ALCON growth.
  • Adheres to formal protocols and policies for the collection, assessment, classification, storage, and dissemination of market research and competitive information in accordance with Alcon and Novartis guidelines. This includes coordination and collaboration with Novartis counterparts.
  • Manages overall Surgical market research budget.
  • Assists broader SI team in appropriately communicating and delivering insights and in constructively challenging brand teams.
  • Acts as a source of functional expertise and identifies/implements key improvements to functional methodologies/working practices. Ensures dissemination of best practice throughout the function. Establishes, develops, and maintains strong vendor/consultant relationships and effectively manages project budgets.
