Job Description
The Senior Tax Manager role is a key contributor to the tax group that is responsible for leading the preparation of the global tax reporting for the Alcon group. The senior manager will be responsible for the preparation of the global annual effective tax rate calculation and updating the calculation throughout the year consistent with global Business Planning & Analysis forecasts and transfer pricing assumptions and will work closely with BPA and other Alcon Tax team members. The manager will also be responsible for the preparation and/or review of the quarterly global tax provision calculations including support to local finance teams, external financial reporting disclosures ensuring SOX compliance and will work closely with the BPA, Financial Reporting & Accounting and Consolidations & Reporting teams and other Alcon Tax team members.

The role is critical to ensure Alcon meets its internal and external financial reporting requirements both in terms of financial data accuracy and integrity and in compliance with Alcon's internal control framework.

• Prepare global effective tax rate calculation
• Prepare/Review quarterly global tax provision calculations
• Prepare/Review quarterly footnote disclosures
• Compliance with SOX 302 process
• Support special projects including tax planning and restructuring
• Build collaborative relationships with various business partners within the company
• Mentoring and coaching subordinate

Minimum requirements
• BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience (High school +15 years; Associates + 11 years; Masters + 4 years; PhD + 3 years)
• CPA and/or MS in Tax strongly preferred
• 7 years of relevant experience with progressive responsibilities
• 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to manage and motivate internal and external staff
• Experience with OneSource preferred
• Superior judgment and critical thinking skills
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Self-starter and performance oriented
• Ability to carry out job responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner
