Senior Optical Engineer II

• Design and development of IOL devices and supporting IOL R&D projects by

  • Leading complex optical metrology system and test method development projects by working with internal teams and/or vendors • Analyzing manufacturability of critical optical features by conducting complex optical modeling and analysis • Generating and/or verifying product optical specifications and tolerances
  • Coordinating test equipment and test method transfer to various manufacturing sites
  • Leading device improvement and support projects for existing metrology systems and products
  • Generate optical test method development and validation and verification plans for IOL projects
  • Core team and/or sub team representation of optical instrumentation function in IOL projects
  • Evaluate novel metrology instruments and lead addition of new capabilities and technologies
  • Conduct feasibility analysis and tolerance budgets for manufacturability assessment of IOL products
  • Perform validation and verification of optical test and metrology systems
  • Lead tech transfer to manufacturing sites and support existing metrology systems and products
  • Generate and release product optical specifications

Minimum requirements • Bachelor's degree in Engineering English Minimum 4 years directly related experience

  • Experience with leading technical projects from start to finish
  • Experience with optical metrology equipment such as aberrometers, interferometers etc.
  • Experience with optical design, optical tolerance assessment
  • Experience with manufacturing devices and automation is preferred
  • Ability to generate, read and evaluate optical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with industry standard optical engineering tools: Zemax, Code V
  • Travel flexibility up to 20% is required
  • Principal Engineer position may be considered for candidates with more experience*
