As a QC AS&T Engineer supporting the QC, Analysis team, you will be trusted to work on in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection in compliance with standards an regulatory requirements at our Houston Facility in Houston, Texas.

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Responsible for in-process and final product quality analyses/inspection in compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. Includes validation of new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment.
  • Interprets and evaluates the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision compared against established specifications. Works with Incoming Inspectors to confirm correct analysis have been made.
  • Identifies ongoing quality issues, prevents potential production issues, and makes suggestions for improvement. Creates new metrology programs on a variety of metrological equipment using touch probes and optics. Creates fixtures using CAD software to support dimensional inspection of components.
  • Uses various measuring devices, testing equipment, predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to accept or reject products.
  • May work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.
  • May work with InfinityQS (Statistical Process Control software) to run inspection data of products.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • Work hours: 1st shift (8am-5pm)
