Manager Customer and Shopper Marketing

Job Description

•The Customer Marketing Manager (CMM) is responsible for the achievement of specific sales & brand objectives within the following National Strategic Accounts: Walmart, and Sam's. •The CMM is accountable for all of the marketing and customer joint business planning activities within the above-mentioned accounts including identification of customer insights through development of customer growth strategies.
•Routine customer interactions will include the following:
o Developing and executing customer business plans in line with the Alcon Vision
o Incorporating brand initiatives into customized customer executions
o Devising out of the box marketing programs to meet specific customer needs
o Presenting category/brand/shopper insights, analysis, and acting as lead customer marketing contact for all customers
o Assisting in the creation of the internal annual planning process
o Managing customer annual co-op budgets
o Establishing and enforcing co-marketing program guardrails
o Ensuring flawless execution and post-initiative analysis of program results
•Drives Alcon's Marketing strategy with all assigned customers:
o Build executable marketing programs
o Devise joint business planning efforts within these Accounts and with brand marketing
o Develop and present situation assessment (insights and business analysis), Strategy & Tactics Overview, action plans, annual customer planning calendars, key strategies and tactics for all assigned customers
•Tactical Execution - Key Owner of promotional program development and execution within assigned customers:
o Lead the development of customer-specific promotional programs which are consistent with market needs and brand strategies
o Incorporate customer needs into brand program architectures and help gain alignment for the plans across all brands and with key stakeholders
o Work with respective members of Strategic Accounts to prioritize marketing initiatives
o Work with Sr. Customer Marketing Manager and Director of Customer Marketing to evaluate sales force capacity, and use insights to regulate the number and complexity of programs in the field and leverage existing customer programs/initiatives where possible
o Develop and deliver customer-specific, fact-based sales materials, presentations, sales aids, and promotional materials (sales sheets, consumer brochures, etc.)
o Ensure various internal Marketing organizations understand the retail environment and specific customer issues
o Develop working relationships with key external customer marketing departments, where appropriate
o Assist Executive Sales Director, Key Acct Directors and customers in determining the business rationale for the amount of Co-Op funding required within each customer and then managing the final budget
o Recommend program spending approvals based on ROIs and/or strategic alignment between Alcon and each customer
•Consumer Insights within each customer
o Develop a unique market position for Alcon by leveraging category and shopper insights
o Ensure Executive Sales Director, Acct Directors and the customers have a deep understanding of category and shopper insights, and how to leverage those insights to grow the Alcon business for them
o Determine specific growth opportunities / risks based on brand positioning and competitive activities

Minimum requirements

•Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience English
•At least 5 years of Marketing & Sales Experience and/or medical device company is preferred
o PREFERRED: Experience executing marketing programs with major retailers
•Eye care industry experience is preferred
•Customer joint business planning experience is preferred
