Maintenance Tech II

Maintains process knowledge and performs all operations in compliance with all applicable regulations and standard operation procedures.

Monitors daily activities in department and updates supervisor of all safety, equipment or other related issues. Trains and assigns work to lower level technicians. Coordinates activities to complete required preventive maintenance of equipment. Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs. Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and written instructions. Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment. May redesign vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing equipment. May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required. Move/load product with a forklift. Involves working w/equipment that uses hazardous chemicals and requires wearing self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) while performing certain tasks and in emergency response situations. Must possess excellent safety awareness and strictly adhere to all safety requirements. Expected to fill in for other techs during planned vacations - includes working night and weekend shifts.
