Job Description

The FC&C Lead ensures adherence to all relevant financial compliance requirements, including SOX 404 and Internal controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and any local requirements. The FC&C Lead understands business processes; performs and directs others to perform risk-assessment, self-assessment of control design, process walkthroughs and testing of internal controls, as well as supporting the remediation of control deficiencies. He/She supports global finance process improvement initiatives, sharing leading practices, and drives standardization, automation and simplification. FC&C Lead ensures deliverables are provided according to the annual financial compliance calendar, monitors performance metrics and updates key stakeholders.

•Manage a team to ensure delivery of major accountabilities for the assigned entities •Ensure compliance with SOX 404/ICFR and any local requirements
•Provide all required ICFR and operational control deliverables according to the annual calendar •Co-ordinate and support SOX 404 attestation processes
•Review process documentation and have a good understanding of key risks and mitigating controls •Work with control owners to update the internal control matrix •Perform end to end process walkthroughs to ensure proper control design and segregation of duties •Perform independent testing with pre-defined sample size •Support control owners to identify root causes of control deficiencies •Recommend remediation actions and track for timely closure
•Proactively challenge the status quo, making fact based recommendations
•Liaison/coordination with Alcon Finance and Offshore & Outsourcing partners on operational matters •Regularly monitor, report and take appropriate action on performance metrics as defined by Alcon global FC&C standards and guidelines •Liaison with stakeholders, including Alcon CFOs, Internal Audit, external auditors, Head FC&C Alcon •Responsible for supporting and monitoring implementation and progress of part III of the controls framework according to the implementation of standard processes and SAP IRIS roadmap (where standard (sub) processes are not yet implemented part II of the framework is applied) •Harmonize finance control processes across internal customers and O&O •Initiate and execute training on compliance requirements to controls owners •Ensure to be up-to-date on changes to compliance requirements •Assist/support assessments for non-core financial control frameworks, as requested •Conduct ad hoc audit/compliance checks on a regular basis •Participate in Financial controls and compliance reviews outside own region •Proactively participate in business or IT related projects to assess potential impact on controls and compliance and monitor critical deliverables related to ICFR • Act as SoD validator for SAP GRC Access Control •Act as a super user for FC&C related tools (Active and SAO, Controls Checklist and Runbook NFCM, MAL/FIKO, GRC, SAP Cockpit reports, etc.)

Minimum requirements

•Bachelor's degree; advanced degree in accounting / finance preferred
•Fluent in English verbal and written
•10 years relevant experience

Preferred Requirements:
•Big 4 Experience
•ICFR and business processes
•Experience managing others
•Very strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior management
•Experience in standardization and harmonization of processes and controls •Project management skills and international experience,
•Ability to work in teams, across functions and different time-zones
•Good knowledge of SAP and MS Office
•Pharma industry and shared services experience is a plus
