As the EDI Analyst/Developer you will become a part of the Commercial & Digital IT DevOps team and will be responsible for develop and implement the B2B integration solution between external EDI Trading Partners or Vendors and Alcon internal applications (e.g. SAP) to support on-going operations, projects, IT Services or business processes. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Production Support, BAs, Architect, Project Managers, and Product Owners to deliver high quality solutions.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Develop, build, configure and unit test solutions from
low level designs

• Ensure that solutions meet requirements outlined in the
design documentation

• Perform all work to agreed time, cost and quality
constraints

• Ensure that developed solutions are peer reviewed and
formally documented

• Unit test solutions to ensure they meet quality standards

• Deliver technical expertise in support of IBM B2B
Sterling Integrator application solution, business
processes or customer facing IT Services

• Identify and analyze business and internal IT
requirements and processes, to develop and implement
a B2B integration solution between external EDI Trading
Partners or Vendors and Alcon internal applications (e.g.
SAP) to support on-going operations, projects, IT
Services or business processes

• Drive activities with Third Party Software Vendors and/or
Managed Service Vendors to ensure that the B2B
application systems are in line with business needs

• Analyze B2B application performance data and provide
ad-hoc and periodic reporting to the relevant
stakeholders

• Ensure effective planning, delivery and maintenance of
B2B/EDI integration solutions to be used in support of
Alcon IT strategy. This includes the following areas:
Communication/Change Management Project
Documentation Resource/Budget guidance
Configuration/Setup Training Sustained maintenance
and operations planning

• Ensure compliance to applicable standards (e.g. ICE,
IGM, SOX, EDI as applicable, other regional and local
as appropriate)

Minimum requirements
SKILLS FOR SUCCESS

• 2-5 years of B2B/MFT/EDI expertise

• Experience in IBM Sterling Integrator is preferred and
integration knowledge with SAP is an advantage.

• Able to coordinate and develop Sterling Integrator tasks
from initiation through launch

• Experience with ANSI X12, EDIFACT, Tradacoms and
relevant XML EDI Standards

• Desired experience with communication protocols
including AS2, SFTP and Connect Direct with interaction
directly with the Trading Partner or Value Added
Networks (VAN)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT Technology
or related IT field

• Proficiency in English
