Aseptic Filling Manufacturing Process Expert

Job Description
Provides specialist knowledge of specific pharmaceutical processes or process technologies. Facilitates processes and standards to maintain and improve existing manufacturing technologies and implement new innovative manufacturing technologies.

Knowledge Management
o Provides knowledge of specific pharmaceutical manufacturing process technologies, including any pilot scale, scale up or down, and Design of Experiments (DoE).
o Assures that the necessary benchmarking is done internally in Alcon and externally in the scientific and academic environment, in order to stimulate and extend the knowledge. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Technology Platform o SME for specific technology platform (e.g. aseptic filling, sterilization) or pharmaceutical process (e.g. chemical formulation) throughout the entire commercial lifecycle, from inception to date.
o Investigates technical development opportunities and assists in implementation of new technologies (e.g., manufacturing equipment, Process Analytical Technology (PAT)).
o Collaborates with technical development organization, other sites, and global MS&T network to facilitate transfer of technical knowledge.
o Participates in the definition and selection of pharmaceutical equipment, through providing input to User Requirement Specifications (URS).

Improvement on Product/Process
o Supports continuous process and quality improvements.
o Designs and controls optimization projects.
o Executes technical feasibility trials related to process improvement and implementation of new manufacturing technology.
o Supports Process Support Lead and Product Steward to perform process characterization to increase robustness and sustainability.

Training
o Own the Training Curriculum for assigned Job Profile and provides training and support to new associates

Audit Support
o Maintain inspection readiness level of assigned documentation and work area, and provide necessary support in any internal or external audit.

Minimum requirements Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, plus 2 years of related experience.

The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
PREFERRED: BS in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry or equivalent scientific or engineering degree and proven understanding of processes, including Pharma, GMP and Regulatory aspects.
