AGS Training Manager

The objective of this role is to handle cross-functional training needs and employee development within AGS environment (globally and at center level) as well as employee engagement for AGS Hub. He/she would participate in defining a global approach for conducting training needs assessment within AGS centers and would lead the effort in respective AGS center. The role would work closely with functions at global/local level to define learning requirements by function, select local or global training providers for soft skills in line with Alcon strategy, and would work with respective Alcon global functions in defining training curriculum. The person that will fulfil this role would work with respective Alcon global functions to drive eLearning platform usage and development where applicable. This role may be required flexibility in terms of shifts to cover all employee base (working various shifts).
Training & Development: • Assess AGS hub training and development needs related to functional (including specific system trainings and requirements) and soft skills. • Work with functions in AGS centers, locally and or globally in developing functional training roadmaps and conducting training needs analysis • Collaborate with other Training Managers in AGS centers to drive global alignment in Training needs analysis (method used, required soft skill trainings in AGS centers, etc.) • Contribute to the creation of an AGS Global Training Calendar by providing AGS center specific requirements, plans • Conducting various employee development trainings (as per Global, Regional HR programs / guidelines) • Handle end-to-end training logistics - budgets, nominations, programs, feedback. • Liaison with service providers for external trainings programs - where applicable align globally on providers and drive economy of scale on service contracts • Oversee academia-linked programs: Certification programs/MDPs/PGPX. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition in Campus engagement/Internships. Engagement: • Participate actively/Drive projects in Global AGS forums for developing a Training frame-work across AGS centers with all that that implies • Contribute to the development of a cross center Alcon Experience Dashboard and Tracking Alcon Experience Dashboard results, coordinate action planning and update management on the progress for the Hub • Contribute to defining an AGS Global reward and recognition scheme • Plan and organize events that ensure: • Enabling conversations: Floor Huddles/ Off-sites/Brown Bag sessions • Work life integration: Team bonding events/Daily stress-busters/Fun Fri-days/Talent Days/Common Interest groups/Celebrations/Others • Continuous improvement: Organize initiatives to gather Employee Voice to improve company processes/Think Tanks • Organize Diversity and Inclusion Events and provide support for Community engagement events • • Culture development- Ideation & execution of creative ways of engagement for millennial audience in AGS to drive better employees satisfaction in close partnership with HRBP, Functional managers etc.
Minimum university required. Master's degree preferred. • Excellent English both spoken and written Minimum: • 5- 8 years of relevant experience in Shared Services industry with managing employee engagement and learning portfolio • previous experience in driving/contributing to global Learning & development projects • Background in training and/or needs assessments, instructional design, and delivery for multiple modalities (e.g., classroom, self-paced, virtual) • Previous experience in working with eLearning platforms • Good knowledge of project management tools and methods • Global stakeholder management • Ability to work in a matrix organization Desirable: • 10+ Years relevant experience in Shared Services industry with managing employee engagement and learning portfolio • Previous experience in managing training teams (directly/indirectly) in Shared Service organization • Background in training and/or needs assessments, instructional de-sign, and delivery for multiple modalities (e.g., classroom, self-paced, virtual) • Previous experience in working with eLearning platform
