Account Manager - Academic Development

Builds and executes account plans to maximize current and future sales opportunities within major teaching hospitals and academic centers, educates key physicians/residents/students on NVS Alcon pharmaceutical products.
•\tMaximize current and future sales opportunities within major teaching hospitals and academic centers. Strategically educate key faculty/fellows/residents/students concerning NVS Alcon pharmaceutical products.
•\tMaximize Pharmaceutical products sales by identifying key decision makers and developing Alcon Pharma advocates by educating thought leaders, physician staff, residents, fellows and students at major teaching hospitals and academic institutions on our product portfolio.
•\tProducts include but are not limited to: all NVS Alcon Pharma products including glaucoma, allergy and anti-inflammatory products.
•\tTerritory management and live sales calls to drive appropriate patient use of our products and educate major institutional accounts. Scope of customer responsibilities include major teaching hospitals, academic centers, Ophthalmology/Optometry department heads, faculty, residents, fellows, students and hospital-based pharmacies. Travel required for live customer interactions.
•\tInteract and conduct business reviews with Deans, Presidents, Clinic Directors, Faculty and staff to grow Alcon Pharma's business in the academic channel.
•\tCoordination of Speaker Alliance activities with Alcon Pharma marketing and field sales.
•\tCoordination of fellow/resident/student handoffs with field sales.
•\tWork collaboratively with cross-franchise counterparts in KAM, field sales and Marketing.
•\tMaintain a culture of compliance, continuous development, empowerment, teamwork and high performance results.
•\tThis territory will cover academic accounts in Florida, New Orleans, LA, and Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate will live in Miami, FL.

Minimum requirements
•\tBachelor's degree, preferable in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or related discipline.
•\tMinimum five years of successful Novartis/Alcon pharmaceutical, surgical, or vision care sales experience, or at least six years of external sales experience, including hospital sales/institutional experience in Pharmaceuticals.
•\tDemonstrated superior business acumen and business planning skills
•\tProven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally with internal and external partners
•\tPossess high achievement drive, self-motivation, integrity and willingness to mentor others
•\tEffective problem solving and decision making skills
•\tDemonstrated superior interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate across diverse audiences
•\tExceptional ability to develop and sustain customer relationships
•\tBuy and Bill (B&B) experience preferred
•\tRetina experience a plus
•\tManaged Market experience a plus
•\tPeople Management skills a plus
