The Sr. Manager, Financial Data Insights & Reporting is responsible for the development and ownership of the financial data analytics framework, proprietary financial systems requirements and business processes and reporting infrastructure for Airbnb globally. The individual in this role will excel in providing business insights to management and other internal/external stakeholders by enhancing reporting capabilities, implementing key controls and procedures to mitigate business risk and increasing confidence in financial data integrity. This role will assume general management responsibilities, partnering across Finance, Engineering, Product and IT to further data driven decision making within the finance organization and drive impact across the business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and own technical business processes and financial data strategy for the Revenue and Payments organizations
  • Enhance visibility into payments and financial data through the development of automated, real-time financial and management reporting
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Business systems and IT to develop technical solutions to address root-causes of payments and reporting errors
  • Design and drive integration of key technical/IT controls across the finance & payments systems landscape, mitigating financial and business risk
  • Assess and scope potential financial system solutions and support development and/or implementation, considering the impact on upstream application systems
  • Support and maintain testing framework to ensure financial data integrity and monitor the health of financial reporting systems
  • Serve as technical liaison between finance, engineering and product, scoping business requirements for proprietary finance systems
  • Influence business decisions by furthering a data-driven and analytical culture across the finance and payments organizations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or other quantitative field
  • 8+ years of combined technical/analytical and finance experience in a multi-national organization (Technology or payments preferred)
  • 3+ years of people management experience in a highly collaborative, high growth environment
  • Strong knowledge of global financial data and/or business intelligence systems (ex. Essbase, Hyperion Financial management)
  • Advanced data visualization and analytics experience (Tableau, Looker, R)
  • Intermediate to Advanced SQL experience
  • Experience working with global ERP applications (ex. Workday, Oracle)
  • Intermediate understanding of US GAAP (Advanced knowledge a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical analyses simply to financial and non-financial audiences
  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced, dynamic environment while collaborating across business functions to drive change
  • Strong interpersonal oral and written skills
