Regional Business Development Manager, Barcelona

The Host and Community Operations (HCO) team is responsible for developing and executing a strategy to recruit, retain, and build a community for our most valuable asset: our hosts!

This individual will be the business owner of Airbnb’s most important, dynamic and iconic Vacation Rental regions. Identifying key opportunities and challenges for his/her core markets, he/she will be responsible for defining a “specific” strategy within those areas. His/her work will ensure Airbnb offers the most comprehensive set of quality homes while also, leading by influence, he/she will work cross departmentally in order to develop strong demand and ensuring overall market health. At the same time his/her focus on improving the experience of our partners will ensure we secure a host and guest NPS that is superior to industry averages. As a result of his/her work Airbnb will be the industry leader by holding a dominant market share in the region.


  • Ownership over the market health of an entire region
  • Develop market knowledge and local network
  • Bring in and/or develop a strong network to leverage effective channels and partnerships to expand a healthy host base
  • Build the strategy to succeed in this region
  • Success based on supply growth/management and contribution to organizational goals
  • Works with public policy and communication to represent Airbnb internally and externally for the region
  • Manage an Account Manager
  • Recruit and onboard main players (Property Managers >10 properties)
  • Manage key accounts with the support of the Account Manager
  • Identify and negotiate key partnerships
  • Identify and execute initiatives to increase supply and ‘win’ markets
  • Organize events, webinars etc. to onboard or educate hosts
  • Reports to HCO Lead and works with cross functional teams


  • 5+ years of experience in consulting/business development  
  • Excellent communication and commercial skills
  • Analytical abilities to identify high-impact opportunities and objectively evaluate projects
  • Good understanding of the tourism industry (background in this industry is a plus)
  • Management experience is a plus
  • Fluent English and Spanish
  • Experience in internet startup-type environments is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and ever changing startup environment
  • Ability to travel to focus markets when required
  • Being a host/traveller on Airbnb is a plus
