Program Manager, Engineering Recruiting

This role sits within our Recruiting Strategy and Operations team, but is specifically focusing on Engineering Recruiting related projects. This person will be the liaison between Recruiting Ops, Engineering Recruiting, and the Engineering org at Airbnb. You will work cross functionally to improve processes to make Engineering Recruiting at Airbnb more efficient and effective.


  • Identify, recommend and implement process improvements across the engineering recruiting organization.
  • Set objectives for the interview program each quarter. Examples include:
    • Making sure we have enough trained interviewers to achieve our hiring goals
    • Monitoring the interviewer pool to ensure interviewers are well-calibrated
    • Coordinating with other teams (Recruiting, Facilities) to make sure we have enough interviewing space
  • Collaborating with stakeholders - Recruiting, RC, Engineering - on defining initiatives to achieve the objectives. Examples include:
    • Improving and growing the current interview question bank
    • Considering the effectiveness of alternative interview formats like take home tests and on site coding projects
    • Owns the process of training and calibration of interviewers and works with stakeholders to make sure we have a well calibrated interviewer pool
  • Tracking progress of the initiatives and driving accountability through the relevant functions (e.g Engineering, Recruiting etc.)
  • Partnering with stakeholders to remove obstacles that prevent the team from achieving their objectives


  • 5+ years of program/project management experience and proven track record of effectively partnering with multiple stakeholders to manage complex projects
  • Flexible, adaptable, solutions oriented in the face of problems
