Employee Engagement Manager

 
The Employee Experience team is seeking a highly-skilled team member to help us scale the impact of our Ground Control team for our Beijing location. The Ground Control team is responsible for executing programing, events and communications that engage employees in building our culture, keep them aligned to the mission and business as well as connected to each other and our community, and bringing our Core Values to life each day.

The Employee Engagement is the ultimate host. You anticipate the needs of others and work tirelessly to cultivate a strong internal employee community, always ensuring that Airbnb values are instilled in the process. You’re creative and resourceful and have an eye for detail. You’re a proficient event planner, communicator and project manager. You build relationships quickly across all levels of an organization.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of China offices culture including supporting, managing and executing cultural ownership and experiential programs, and comms channels under the oversight of the Employee Experience and following Global strategy and templates.
  • Responsibilities to include: administrative tasks, visual and written content creation and curation, event design and planning, coordinate event set-up and breakdown, organizing program and events supplies and records, source vendors and venues as needed and tracking budget and impact.
  • Executes (or support the team) in creating recognition moments around Airbnb milestones (anniversaries, etc), impactful contributions, personal, milestones and maintain a DIY celebration station to encourage employees to implement moments on their own.
  • Collaborate across stakeholders and cross-functional peers as guided by manager, maintaining excellent relationships and creating a seamless and integrated employee experience approach in partnership with others who deliver on the employee experience and local ambassadors (Social Impact, Airfinity, and BE).
  • Be a host & a central resource for employees.
  • Keep a pulse on employee sentiment and the data to continue to evolve strategy.
  • Culture and Core Values champion, nurturing and growing the local Airbnb culture and connecting employees to Airbnb’s mission.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience or 2+ years relevant education.
  • Can balance taking direction and working collaboratively on teams as well as being highly independent on daily tasks and assigned programs.
  • Event Planning: comfortable with events of all scale, going from planning to execution.
  • Project Management: uses complex project management tools proficiently can build timelines, budgets, Gantt charts, and RASCI models to support assigned work.
  • Experience tracking budgets, metrics and impact.
  • Intermediate to advanced with Mac and google suite (mail, docs, sheets, slides, surveys, etc) and proficient to advanced with ASANA + Slack (or proven ability to learn equivalent tools quickly).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to write effective messaging to support work (event/cal invitations, calls to action, emails, etc.).
  • Easily builds relationships across all levels of a company and considered a facilitator and connector. Posses good listening skills that allow you to quickly build trust and empathy with coworkers.
  • Proficient and comfortable in working with leaders and are able to inform and guide as appropriate.
  • Working experience in start-ups, dynamic and innovative environments. Understand the many facets of the business (teams, strategies, metrics), know the key stakeholders and how to connect the work of their teams to other parts of the business.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and take pride in work that is done well.
  • Think several steps ahead, prepare your thoughts, and prioritize the right details in your work. Considerate about using other people’s time efficiently.
  • You are composed under pressure and make things look simple.  Able to juggle tasks & prioritize.
