Data Science Manager, Risk

Trust is at the foundation of every Airbnb experience and as such we aim to make it the most trusted platform in the world. To achieve such goal, the Data Science team relies on a diverse collection of structured and unstructured data to design, build, and support machine learning models to detect and prevent potential negative experiences and fraud attempts.

As a Data Science Manager on Risk, you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of data scientists and analysts to collaborate with a strong team of engineers and product managers to leverage Airbnb’s rich and unique data and state-of-art machine learning infrastructure. Some of the challenges you will face include:

  • Building machine learning models to detect high risk transactions or interactions

  • Experimentation of product features to deter and mitigate risk

  • Devise optimization models to make optimal business decisions while minimizing risk

  • Innovate and make advances on adversarial modeling

We have an incredible team of Data Scientists, our work is highly sought-after, and our impact on the business is tremendous. If you have a proven background in this field and are excited to help build Airbnb’s community, we want to hear from you. Some examples of traits that we value:
