Learning & Development Architect

We are currently seeking to hire a Learning and Development Architect.  This role will be based in our Bangkok office and will report directly to our Director of Learning and Leadership Development (L&LD), also based in Bangkok.  The role has a global reach.  The L&LD team covers careers end-to-end, including talent management, performance management, and learning.  It has a unique function in ensuring the best possible development of all our people, without taking ownership for development away from employees and their managers.  As such we are a small team of professionals who advice and enable teams throughout the organization to work on development.  We set challenging targets, co-create content, co-facilitate, teach others to teach and coach, and provide systems to scale, measure, and exchange learning.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

The objective of this new role is expanding and refining all learning at Agoda.  We are working on making more of our learning end-to-end: linked to talent management data, with managers setting targets, coaching, teaching, and observing, using in-house case studies, and of course application.  The role includes creating and enabling online learning content, workshops, coaching by managers, new processes, and measurement.  Senior managers will need to be involved not just for content contributions, but also delivery.  They will need some co-facilitation and guidance.  This role allows for unbridled curiosity towards the functioning of the organization and how we can continuously improve.

  • Design and develop learning programs and content
  • Teach facilitators and co-facilitate with managers.
  • Employ innovative scalable capability building methods that go beyond the classroom, including self-directed learning, technology-based learning, learning on the job, mobile learning, testing, monitoring, etc.
  • Consult with and guide our various departments
  • Analyze needs for learning and development programs.  Track and measure impact
  • Cover content development and delivery both for general management skills (e.g., project management, ensuring managers do performance reviews effectively) and for domain skills (e.g.,  industry knowledge, understanding our connectivity systems)

Experience

Experience that can contribute to success in the role includes strategy consulting, writing, editing, facilitation, coaching, affinity with management and running fast moving tech companies.  Familiarity with online learning content is helpful.  (We are not looking for someone who manages outsourced training or someone without program design capability.)

Managerial experience is a pro.  Consulting and managing change is another pro.  IT/internet business experience is too.  An ability to bring perspectives from various sides of the business is more important than extensive experience in HR L&D area.

Undergraduate degree from a top university expected; advanced degrees welcome.  Since this is a new role, it is even more important to be smart, self-motivated, curious, energetic, hands-on, and adaptive.  Flexibility and a sense of humor are a must.
