Summary:

The Director of Global Database Administration is responsible for overseeing the databases and administrators for the company. As the Director, you will be responsible for driving the technical vision for databases, leading and growing the database organization and partnering with our business and security teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Oracle, Sybase, and SQL Server DBAs in providing service for test and production environments
  • Develop, administer, and maintain global enterprise database administration
  • Lead the consolidation and modernization of database architecture
  • Implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security, quality, integrity and availability of databases
  • Champion automation and self-service capabilities for internal customers
  • Manage new project implementations for database deployment and data migration
  • Manage all regular maintenance activities including patching, upgrades, backup and recovery, documentation, security, DR plans and tests, capacity planning, and performance evaluations
  • Work with stakeholders to identify gaps and define requirements as it relates to the operational efficiency of current and anticipated processes
  • Partner with security and risk teams in implementing process changes to ensure compliance with privacy policies, security audits and PCI certifications.
  • Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
  • Responsible for the escalation and resolution of the data system issues, outages and complaints

Qualifications:

  • Experience and deep understanding of database administration
  • Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Prior experience managing 7×24 enterprise operations and database administration teams
  • Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and/or enterprise applications development and integration environment
  • Proven track record of project managing, developing, documenting, presenting and implementing functional requirements leading to the implementation of new business processes across multiple departments in an organization.
  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
