Rate:This opportunity is a yearlong contract with full benefits offered – The contract rate is 14/hr W2.

Summary:

The Desktop Support Representative provides quality support to users by responding to end-user inquiries and resolving problems associated with telecommunications networks, computer hardware and core business applications. This role ultimately strives to identify the problem source and works with the internal telecommunications, system operations, application development and vendors to resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives, researches and responds to inquiries from users concerning PC, telecommunications or business application problems
  • May serve as a focal point for verification of on-line application initiation and availability
  • Documents, logs and tracks problems
  • Follows up to ensure efficient response and quality customer service
  • Adheres to defined problem management procedures including escalation/notification through closure
  • Provides contact for user groups and provides on-site support for data processing conversions if required
  • Acts as a user help representative at project, conversion and maintenance meetings
  • Maintains stable data processing operating environment during conversions through prompt recognition, resolution and/or escalation of problems and issues to appropriate operation and management personnel

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of Windows Operating System
  • Experience with PC/ desktop and laptop computers, peripheral devices telecommunications and transmission, the operating systems, applications and products utilized by the assigned groups
  • Understanding of the data processing environment and the impact to business functions when systems and/or applications are unavailable
  • Good knowledge and proficiency in PC software such as spreadsheet, word processing and graphics packages
