Learning & Development Manager

As a Learning & Development Manager, you will help us accelerate our culture of continuous learning by managing our manager and diversity & inclusion programs. You will draw on your experience as a learning & development professional to create strategies that will help Affirm build high-performance teams, create and foster best practices, and optimize and evolve our learning programs as we grow.

What you'll do

  • Be an owner: drive and execute on the learning curriculum for Affirm’s people managers and diversity & inclusion initiatives; ensure it scales and continues to meet the needs of our evolving population

  • Advise the business: Collaborate with our People Business Partners, Onboarding/Engagement/Diversity & Inclusion partners, and business leaders to understand learning & development needs, assess opportunities, and recommend solutions that fit with the broader learning and development strategy

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise and drive impact:
  • Develop engaging, creative, and impactful learning experiences to improve individual and organizational performance and development
  • Partner closely with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion stakeholders to ensure that in addition to our Diversity & Inclusion specific trainings, that all learning programs are inclusive and are applied with a diversity & inclusion lens
  • Develop and track key performance indicators; measure and evaluate the efficacy of Affirm’s manager and D&I learning programs; utilize data to iterate on a strategy that will help to drive meaningful change while motivating, inspiring and retaining our employees; build and socialize business cases that demonstrate program impact and efficacy

  • Build highly effective programs:
  • Provide outstanding program management support, including, keeping partners appropriately engaged and up-to-date; actively resolving project, design, or resource issues; collaborating with cross-functional partners
  • Partner with Director, People Operations (to whom this position reports) on all learning-related operations, including vendor management, project budgeting, planning, logistics management, and communication
  • Act as first level of program support for key partners and employee questions related to philosophy, guidance, data and policy

What we look for

  • 6+ years of corporate experience; 3+ hands-on experience in adult learning and people development
  • A strong point of view around diversity, equity and inclusion; proven record of integrating across broader learning curriculum
  • Ability to thrive in a face-paced environment with quickly changing business needs
  • Subject matter expertise in crafting and applying design concepts; ability to develop effective learning interactions across a variety of mediums (in-person, blended, online, self-service) and able to strategically target the appropriate strategy based on our employee needs
  • Track record on learning curriculum management
  • Ability to integrate multiple sets of data to build a cohesive recommendation and plan
  • Strong business insight and judgement, team orientation, and collaborative style
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maturely balance sensitive and confidential information
