Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Algorithm Developer for an internship opportunity. This position will be located in El Segundo, California.
The qualified candidate will become part of the Systems Performance, Estimation and Algorithms Department (SPEAD).

KEY FUNCTIONS
  • Algorithm assessment and development
  • Predictive error vs actual errors assessment from large scale simulation outputs
  • Feature identification and extraction from noisy, unstable image datasets
  • Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
  • Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks.
  • Training and mentorship will be provided.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or related program
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance
  • US Citizenship required
  • Knowledge and/or experience with programming in C, C++, JAVA, Python, or Matlab


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • GPA 3.5 or higher
  • Active security clearance
  • Experience in algorithm development for sensor scheduling and tracking applications
  • Experience in working in an autonomous work environment on complex projects
  • Experience in working on business or engineering full life-cycle projects from project inception through launch
  • Software design, development, unit testing and integration experience
