The Aerospace Corp. is seeking a Sr. Spacecraft Engineer to perform research and development in the field of spacecraft security, fault management, and resiliency.

Key Functions

  • Provide expertise in spacecraft fault management systems
  • Perform research and development in resilient spacecraft architectures
  • Provide expertise in command and data handling systems (C&DH)
  • Analyze and make recommendations on enterprise architectures
  • Lead and mentor small engineering teams to develop prototypes
  • Support critical program issues


  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Twelve or more years of experience working with C&DH systems, flight software, and/or bus architectures for large spacecraft
  • Knowledge of spacecraft architecture trades
  • Ability to analyze design trades and understand system risk
  • Fundamental understanding of spacecraft fault management systems
  • Experience leading small teams
  • Experience with NRO or SMC space systems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated technical breadth
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance

  • Experience leading the development of technical prototypes or proof of concepts
  • Experience with ground system design
  • Experience developing software/firmware for embedded systems
  • Experience with spacecraft control
  • Experience leading the development of technical prototypes or proof of concepts
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance
