Responsibilities

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Leave of Absence Consultant to develop, maintain and modify as required any plan or benefit related policies such as sick leave, short and long term disability, FMLA, etc. Responsible for design, vendor management and company policy oversight of paid and unpaid leave programs supporting qualified absences. Creates and manages return to work programs. Provides a centralized, strategic focus to reduce lost time. Reviews departments' return to work efforts and provides strategic focus to improve results. Ensures compliance with state and federal laws. Qualifications

KEY FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluates present programs through research, surveys, and analysis of benefit trends and/or vendor management to ensure plans are competitive and current.
  • May conduct wellness workshops, new hire orientation, and/or retirement consultations.
  • May prepare for and conduct annual open enrollment, including activities such as employee communication materials design and delivery, presentations, employee counseling, ensuring systems readiness.
  • May manage vendor relationships, monitoring vendor performance, products, cost, and schedule
  • Partners with Finance, Office of General Counsel, and Communications as well as external ERISA attorneys and consultants to develop system design capabilities and processes aligned with legislation.
  • Responds to internal and external auditors and actuaries. Provides data and documentation, explains processes and data.
  • Assists in developing strategies for benefit designs and administration.
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements to HR processes and procedures continually to improve efficiency and service delivery.


Requirement for Leave of Absence Consultant Level III
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications including Excel
  • Experience in SAP (or other ERP Tools)
  • 6 years' experience with Leave management, employee benefits programs, processes, best practices, standards, and methodologies
  • Familiarity with state and federal laws


Requirement for Sr. Leave of Absence Consultant Level IV
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications including Excel
  • Experience in SAP (or other ERP Tools)
  • 10 years' significant experience with designing, analyzing and implementing Leave management solutions, evaluating insource vs outsource solutions, employee benefits programs, processes, best practices, standards, and methodologies.
  • Team leadership experience
  • Familiarity with state and federal laws


Preferred
  • Master's Degree, PhD, or JD
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or business-related field preferred
  • Experience with Worker Compensation
