Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties:

The selected candidate will provide on-site support to the National Space Defense Center (NSDC) and coordinate efforts with the Joint Space Operations Center (JSpOC) and HQ Air Force Space Command (AFSPC). The candidate will support space battle management command and control (BMC2) devolopment efforts necessary to realize the Space Warfighting Construct (SWC), assit the government in creating BMC2 courses of action and provide systems engineering review of NSDC processes. In addition, the candidate will serve as a liaison to Aerospace personnel and reachback to subject-matter experts, prepare technical reports and briefings; and other material as required. Occasional non-standard working hours may be required.



Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor degree in engineering or natural sciences (e.g., physics, mathematics, computer science) from a recognized institution with twelve or more years of relevant engineering/technical experience.
  • Air Force/Navy Weapons School graduate
  • Joint planning experience
  • Experience with a variety of national security space architectures, systems engineering, system architecting, requirements development, system acquisition and operational experiments is strongly desired
  • Familiarity with Aerospace reachback capabilities and relationships is desired
  • Candidate must have excellent interpersonal communication and briefing skills along with demonstrated ability to work independently and interact effectively with high-level government, Aerospace, and contractor personnel
  • This position requires current TS/SCI and SAP/SAR clearance
  • Some travel is required
