Responsibilities

Seeking an experienced Construction Subcontracts Manager to join our growing team of buyers with diverse specialties. The Aerospace Supply Chain Organization is in immediate need of a Subcontracts Manager with experience and a solid understanding of commercial construction acquisition. This person will perform all aspects of construction contract administration in support of complex commercial and government construction, capital improvement, and facilities tenant improvement projects from pre-award through close-out in accordance with The Aerospace Corporation (TAC) policies and procedures. This person will initially be the lead in partnership with facilities on the Construction of a new facility in Colorado Springs, CO.

Travel to Colorado Springs will be frequent during 2020 and 2021 or until construction is complete.

Key Functions
  • Management of design & construction delivery methodology subcontracts (IDIQ contracts as well as design IDIQ based on Brooks Act, AIA and CSI contracts)
  • Recommend construction contract delivery methodology based on circumstances and project objectives
  • Demonstrate vendor sourcing strategies.


Qualifications

Required for Level IV
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or related field.
  • 10 or more years of professional-level experience managing design-build and design-bid-build contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to independently research and recommend solutions to problems, multi-task, and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Experience recommending construction contract delivery methodology based on circumstances and project objectives
  • Experience with AIA and CSI contracts, forms and procurement methodologies.
  • Ability to travel (25-50% for Colorado project)
  • This role may require a clearance that is issued by the US government and US citizenship is required.


Required for Level V
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or related field.
  • 15 years or more of professional-level experience managing design-build and design-bid-build contracts
  • Experience recommending construction contract delivery methodology based on circumstances and project objectives
  • Experience with AIA and CSI contracts, forms and procurement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently research and recommend solutions to problems, multi-task, and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to travel (25-50% for Colorado project)
  • This role may require a clearance that is issued by the US government and US citizenship is required.


Preferred
  • Experience with Government construction a plus
  • SAP experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of corporate staff, management, and customers
  • Must be detail-oriented

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at one time
