Look no further, The Aerospace Corporation's accounting organization is where you want to be. We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting in our Financial Reporting department. In the Senior Analyst role, you'll participate in the preparation of internal and external financial reports including the incurred cost submission, benefit plan financial statements and 5500 reports, and financial reporting packages. KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares various financial reports including audited financial statements and footnotes, and internal reporting packages; Analyzes variances
  • Prepares benefit plan audited financial statements and 5500 reports
  • Assists with preparation of the government cost reports (e.g. Incurred Cost Submission)
  • Prepares property and other tax schedules
  • Prepares account analyses and reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts; Researches proactively any outstanding issues
  • Assists with research on accounting issues and disclosure requirements
  • Writes or updates desk procedures for area of responsibility
  • Coordinates department projects as assigned and works on special projects as needed
  • Interfaces with all level of management, internal and external auditors


Qualifications

Required Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting Level III:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, with six or more years of relevant, progressive experience; or 4 or more years with a related MBA.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, People Soft) and MS Excel
  • Understanding of diverse accounting subject matter and reporting requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills
  • This role may require a secret clearance which is issued by the US government and US citizenship is required


Required Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting Level IV:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, with ten or more years of relevant, progressive experience; or 8 or more with a related MBA
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, People Soft) and MS Excel
  • Understanding of diverse accounting subject matter and reporting requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, writing and communication skills
  • This role may require a secret clearance which is issued by the US government and US citizenship is required


Qualifications

Preferred
  • CPA with public accounting experience or MBA
  • Experience preparing Corporate financial statements/footnotes, Incurred Cost Submission, Benefit plan financial statements/5500s
  • Experience with tax reporting in a Corporate environment
  • Knowledge of government contracting regulations (FAR, CAS) and overhead rates
  • Experience writing accounting desk procedures
  • Experience with SAP
