Responsibilities

The Project Engineer: Future and International Programs provide leadership and technical support to the MILSATCOM advanced concepts office and to other Air Force staff agencies, office of the Department of Defense, and other corporate entities, as required.

This position can be filled as a Level 2: Project Engineer or as a Level 3: Sr. Project Engineer.

Key Funtions:

  • Act as technical advisor and a core team member of the MILSATCOM advanced concepts team
  • Provide technical analysis and support development of commercial SATCOM pathfinder activities, including requirements definition and acquisition support
  • Support science & technology, research & development, capabilities, architectures, and Small Business Innovative Research efforts
  • Support the development and implementation of MILSATCOM studies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders by working closely and effectively with various Aerospace and USG organizations, the existing MILSATCOM programs of record, and foreign governments


Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Level 2: Project Engineer
  • BS in engineering, or related fields such as mathematics, or computer sciences
  • 8 or more years of experience that includes DoD space acquisition processes and policies
  • Experience with developing, negotiating and executing government and industry partnerships
  • Experience in applying U.S. armanments cooperation, export control, technology transfer, and foreign disclosure policies and guidance
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior military, civilian government and industry customers from diverse organization
  • Experience in space systems design, capabilities, challenges, and/or contracts
  • Outstanding oral/written comminication skills
  • DoD SECRET


Required Qualifications for Level 3: Sr. Project Engineer
  • BS in engineering, or related fields such as mathematics, or computer sciences
  • 12 or more years of experience that includes DoD space acquisition processes and policies
  • Experience with developing, negotiating and executing government and industry partnerships
  • Experience in applying U.S. armanments cooperation, export control, technology transfer, and foreign disclosure policies and guidance
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior military, civilian government and industry customers from diverse organizations
  • Experience in space systems design, capabilities, challenges, and/or contracts
  • Outstanding oral/written comminication skills
  • DoD SECRET

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • Program Office experience
  • Ability to accommodate international and domestic travel
