Responsibilities
The Space Innovative Directorate is seeking a Project Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical support in the areas of evolving ground systems into enterprise level solutions, ground system integration, operations planning and execution, and ground system testing to the Advanced Systems and Development Directorate.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Support government personnel in the acquisition, integration and operations of space missions. Support development and integration of evolving ground systems, provide assessments and recommendations regarding: space and ground networks and connectivity, modification to operations and concepts of operations, and coordination of facility/infrastructure upgrades. This position will require extensive interaction with DoD and USAF organizations including AFRL, AFSPC, STP, and ORS. Position is based at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. Infrequent travel required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in engineering, mathematics, or physical sciences is required or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Minimum of 8 yrs experience in mission operations, planning, mission integration, mission readiness, and launch or on-orbit operations
Strong knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle and principles is required
Candidate must be highly motivated, have strong interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated capability to work effectively with contractors, customers, and co-workers
Demonstrated strong oral and written communications skill are required
Secret level security clearance is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of ground system architectures, especially those used in support of space situation awareness missions and ground antennas
Experience in ground system integration and testing, launch preparation, space flight operations, and end-of-life preparation are highly desirable
TS/SCI desired
