Aerospace Payroll Specialist II is an important contributor to the payroll areas of operations, tax, compliance, and systems, to ensure the timely and accurate weekly payroll processing of approximately 4,500 company personnel. This role is focused on the complete payroll process and payroll disciplines including working with system programmers/liaison to achieve solutions and administer the company payroll systems.
Key Functions:
• Analyze payroll, human resource and accounting data for alignment to payroll/systems objectives timely and accurately
• Identify and incorporate known payroll related changes into the day-to-day processing for the team
• Research and interpret federal and state wage and hour regulations as they relate to payment processing and customer care issues presented daily within the department
• Analyze and resolve complex payroll processing/payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing
• Knowledge of payroll tax reporting, reconciliations, and payroll accounting
• Collaborate/coordinate with system liaisons to implement and test system changes as needed
• Heavy customer care follow-up and documentation of implemented changes
• Other payroll related task as determined by management and business needs
Qualifications
Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 8 or more years of relevant experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office application including (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Must work well and effectively in a team environment
• Must be attentive to confidentiality and privacy demands
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
Preferred:
• Bachelor's Degree
• A related professional certification is preferred, such as FPC, CPP or CPA, or Master's Degree in an unrelated area
• SAP or other ERP systems experience
• ADP tax service experience is required
• Experience with system implementation
