Responsibilities

Contribute to the mission success of the Missile Defense Agency's Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS) program. This position will provide technical oversight of the development by industry of the HBTSS system, which is a space-based IR sensor system.

Key Functions:
  • Monitoring industry progress in their concept design and risk reduction activities
  • Keeping the government customer up to date on progress/issues
  • Leading Aerospace independent technical assessment teams
  • Establishing strong and effective working relationships with government customers and industry partners


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, or Science or related technical field
  • 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments
  • Secret security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience with space systems acquisition and development
  • Experience presenting technical material to government customers
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Occasional travel is required


Preferred:
  • Experience with Missile Defense and Missile Warning mission areas
  • Experience with optical IR payloads
  • Active TS/SCI
