Responsibilities

Aerospace is seeking a Linux HPC Developer and Administrator for our Engineering Applications Department (EAD). EAD develops a wide variety of software applications and performs analyses for engineering needs to support civil, commercial, and national security space systems. They work with organizations seeking solutions for structural analysis, dynamic loads analysis, launch monitoring, anomaly investigation, modeling, simulation, and many other facets of space systems.

Key Functions

  • Support industry leading engineers and scientists in the development of maintainable high performance applications, simulations, and integrated applications
  • Design, develop, and maintain software for a variety of engineering applications, including technical/scientific computing, graphics and visualization, simulations, and high performance computing
  • Apply standard techniques and procedures to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain operating systems (Linux), utilities, and a variety of scientific and engineering software applications
  • Hardware installation and configuration, hardware and software maintenance, performance monitoring, and problem diagnosis
  • Must be able to work within security guidelines and closely with current engineering and operations staff
  • Work on teams to help define and develop innovative next generation space systems


Qualifications

This position can be filled as a Linux HPC Developer/Administrator or Sr. Linux HPC Developer/Administrator

Required for Linux HPC Developer/Administrator
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related discipline
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience and increasingly responsible related development, systems administration, and engineering experience
  • Experience in object-oriented software programming; hands-on experience with any of the following: Python, C, C++, Java
  • Experience in system shell scripting using Bash, Perl, or other relevant scripting language
  • Experience in supporting, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring Linux and Unix systems, hardware, and applications across multiple technology stacks
  • Application installation and configuration experience
  • Ability to apply sound engineering principles to support customer needs
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance


Required for Sr. Linux HPC Developer/Administrator
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related discipline
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience in development, systems administration, and engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented software programming with any of the following: Python, C, C++, Java
  • Proficiency in system shell scripting using Bash, Perl, or other relevant scripting language
  • Experience in supporting, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring Linux and Unix systems, hardware, and applications across multiple technology stacks
  • Application installation and configuration experience
  • Experience in applying sound engineering principles to support customer needs
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance


Preferred
  • Proficiency in Python, C, C++
  • Experience with SQL and database management
  • Experience developing graphical user interfaces and knowledge of graphics technologies. Proficiency in graphical application frameworks such as Qt.
  • Experience in various flavors of Unix and Linux (e.g. Centos, Ubuntu, Red Hat, Oracle)
  • Experience in DevOps
  • Experience in Computer Security
  • Demonstrated initiative to solve problems
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Active security clearance
