Become a member of a small program office team charged with shaping the future of our nation's GEOINT space architecture. The GEOINT Innovations Office's GEOINT Future Architectures Department supports our customer's efforts to imagine, analyze, optimize, and acquire the next generation of GEOINT systems. As a GEOINT Future Architectures Engineer, you will play a key role in developing detailed analyses to enable data-driven decisions at the highest levels of the government. This is a significant career opportunity, supporting the acquisition and disposition of the entirety of the nation's overhead GEOINT architecture. Key Functions

  • Contribute to and lead modeling, simulation, and decision support studies that contribute to formulating our nation's next generation of GEOINT
  • Translate abstract customer needs into specific analysis questions and plans for execution
  • Organize and lead multi-disciplinary teams to conduct design modeling, simulation, and analyses in support of the acquisition of multiple interconnected systems and architectures
  • Participate in engagement activities with a variety of mission partners across government as well as diverse industry partners
  • Understand the needs of users and translate those needs into commensurate system and architecture requirements
  • Develop, communicate, and defend Aerospace technical positions on a wide variety of program assessments and key customer issues to both customer and Aerospace senior management
  • Operate as a direct interface to the government program leadership
  • Participate in significant interaction with staff in the Aerospace Engineering Matrix Organization to ensure appropriate tasking, progress and results
  • Excel in a fast-paced, small team environment
  • Interface with all levels of Aerospace, customer, and contractor personnel
  • Be self-motivated to search for and recognize technical issues and develop related solutions


  • BS in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Experience applying engineering skills and best practices to the resolution of complex problems
  • Experience with the implementation and/or the development of architecture level analysis techniques and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical positions based on complex analysis sets
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with government and SETA personnel
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with quickly changing priorities and activities
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer interface skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Some travel will be necessary to support contractor activities
  • Must have current TS/SCI with SSBI
  • This position requires the ability to have and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science
  • 8 years of progressively more responsible experience
  • An understanding of the GEOINT mission and overall intelligence objectives
  • Experience interacting with the GEOINT community on future needs and requirements
  • Experience with acquisition systems engineering processes
  • Working knowledge of ground and communications technology, commercial GEOINT activities, and/or the GEOINT enterprise including ground, air, and space
  • Ability to identify, organize, and initiate Aerospace Engineering Matrix Organization activities in support of government priorities and working knowledge of Aerospace Engineering Matrix Organization personnel and processes and experience tasking those resources
