We have a current need for a facilities electrical power engineer to provide technical leadership and expertise for the design, development, and operations associated with ground systems electrical facilities and associated equipment, especially in the areas of power generation, transmission, distribution, protection, controls, grounding, lighting, and lightning protection systems.

Key Functions

  • Provide the technical expertise in identifying new technologies and operational enhancements to improve the design, safety, reliability and cost efficiency related to power controls.
  • Develop and/or implement advanced analytical techniques to evaluate facility control systems and optimize overall electrical systems design.
  • Coordinate technical assignments, work independently and on teams, and provide advice to management and customers.
  • Develop and evaluate design criteria, concepts and design packages, supporting construction and/or commissioning operations; develop test plans, interface control documents and test procedures.
  • Investigate equipment failures and diagnose faulty operation related to controls; provide recommendations to customer.
  • Provide detailed technical reports for customers and program office, assessing subsystem performance and modification or upgrade requirements.



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited school
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in design and operation of facility electrical/power systems and controls, preferably in an Architect-Engineer (A&E) firm
  • Expertise in facility/infrastructure control and supervisory systems (e.g., SCADA, DCS)
  • Expertise in programmable logic controllers and communications infrastructure (PLCs)
  • Expertise in electrical system/component engineering related to VFDs, instrumentation, and panels
  • Knowledge of current building codes and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IBC)
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems modeling and analysis tools (e.g., SKM Power*Tools(R) eTAP(R))
  • Ability to work independently and on teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with developing project requirements and performing electrical calculations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an SCI clearance

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Current SCI clearance
  • Professional engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain
  • Ability to lead project teams
  • Experience with high power/utility infrastructure engineering
  • Experience with high-density data center design and operations
  • Experience with launch base infrastructure and facilities
  • Familiar with AutoCAD or analogous computer-aided drafting programs
  • Project cost estimation experience
  • Architect-Engineer industry experience
  • Project management experience
