Responsibilities

The Cyber Operations and Resilience Department (CORD) provides technical support in researching and engineering cyber solutions for Aerospace internal and external customers in all segments of national security space systems. Support is provided across multiple functional areas to include ground network and space-based systems for multiple mission partners to include Air Force Space Command, SMC Directorates, operational Space Wings and Civil Agencies. A primary focus is to support the Space and Missile Center, Air Force Space Command, US Space Command and US Space Force.

Key Functions

  • Support test, study and improve mission resiliency for Space Mission Systems against advanced cyber threats
  • Develop and test Defensive Cyber Operations tools and capabilities
  • Apply standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or cyber security tasks
  • Participate in risk management activities to ensure cybersecurity risks are evaluated and mitigations applied in accordance with security directives
  • Proactively support program management of multiple projects and facilitate in-depth working groups to identify credible threats, relevant vulnerabilities, and assess operational impacts
  • Assist in development of mitigating courses of action and creation of comprehensive strategies to include system design modifications
  • Closely collaborate with Aerospace, Government, other Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs), contractors, and mission partner representatives


This position is available as a Cyber Security Engineer or Sr. Cyber Security Engineer.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Cyber Security Engineer
  • Bachelor of Science or advanced technical degree from an accredited University
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance issued by the US government. US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Five or more years of cyber security/cyber operations experience
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be energetic and self-motivated
  • Must work well in a distributed team environment
  • Must possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need
  • Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the company's values of Dedication to Mission Success, Technical Excellence, Commitment to Our People, Integrity and Objectivity


Required Qualifications for Sr. Cyber Security Engineer
  • Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical area of study
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance issued by the US government. US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
  • Eight or more years of cyber security/cyber operations experience
  • Two years or more of experience in supporting Air Force Space Command organizations
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be energetic and self-motivated
  • Must work well in a distributed team environment
  • Must possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need
  • Demonstrates behavior that is consistent with the company's values of Dedication to Mission Success, Technical Excellence, Commitment to Our People, Integrity and Objectivity


Preferred
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Advanced technical degree from an accredited University
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification or equivalent
  • Familiarity with system administration concepts and techniques (e.g. building and provisioning bare metal servers and workstations, building virtual machines etc.)
  • Three years or more of operational Space Operations experience (e.g. AFSCN, GPS, SBIRS etc.)
  • Experience with space systems, including familiarity with space, ground and user segments
  • Demonstrated proficiency with configuring VMWARE ESXi environments
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Space system cryptos and network engineering
  • Familiarity with cyberspace operations planning, war gaming and experiments
  • Experience network design and protocols, penetration testing and defensive cyber operations
  • Proficient with one or more programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java
  • Familiarity with SIEM solutions such as SPLUNK and cloud applications experience
  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, including Risk Management Framework (RMF)
