Responsibilities

The Special Programs Division (SPD) supports our Air Force customer, the Special Programs Directorate, in the development, delivery, operations and sustainment of unrivaled space control capabilities to guarantee space superiority for our nation. These programs include the Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program, the Space Based Space Surveillance Program and the Counter Communications System. Key Functions
  • Provide engineering support to customers through pre-acquisition planning, source selection, design reviews, integration and test, and early operational testing.
  • Support acquisition of software reliant RF systems to include development of acquisition strategies, development of request for proposal packages, and participation in source selections.
  • Play a significant role in engineering studies such as requirements development and flow; integration, verification, and validation; readiness reviews; risk and opportunity identification, assessment, and mitigation; technology planning and insertion; performance assessments; architecture assessments; and/or market research.
  • Develop and interpret metrics for tracking success of projects.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to disseminate findings, guidance, and technical information
  • Mission assurance

This Position is Available as an Aerospace Corporation Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer

Qualifications

Required
  • BS in engineering
  • Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible experience in RF engineering
  • Experience with at least one DoD ground or space program
  • Effective written and oral communications skills
  • Current Top Secret and SCI clearance
  • Ability to obtain additional security clearances
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred
  • BS in electrical engineering
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related technical discipline
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the DoD acquisition system


Qualifications for Senior Project Engineer
Required
  • BS in engineering
  • Minimum of 12 years of increasingly responsible experience in RF engineering across the lifecycle of a system from inception through design, construction, testing and deployment
  • Experience leading an engineering team for development or anomaly resolution
  • Experience with at least one DoD ground or space program
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Current Top Secret and SCI clearance
  • Ability to obtain additional security clearances
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.


Preferred
  • BS in electrical engineering
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or closely related technical discipline
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the DoD acquisition system
