Responsibilities

The role of the Corporate Chief Engineer's Office (CCEO) is increasingly important in a time of change - where the space domain is transforming to a competitive international arena, where access to space requires new and innovative technologies and business models, and where intersections are maturing among the arenas of military, civil, scientific, and commercial space. The Corporate Quality Project Leader will provide support to the Corporate Quality Management office by participating in the planning for and assessment of the Quality Management System (QMS) at The Aerospace Corporation. Collaborate with technical and business operations to continue the implementation of the QMS principles across the company sites.

Key Functions

  • Determination of quality needs/capabilities
  • Development of essential quality related documentation as required
  • Maintaining quality practices and manuals
  • Support the continued deployment and inculcation of the quality management system across the enterprise
  • Maintaining the Corporate Quality Management Office website
  • Planning and scheduling the internal audit/assessment function to ensure that quality standards are maintained in all pertinent technical areas
  • Track and analyze observations or findings resulting from assessments and audits to provide continuous improvement opportunities for the QMS.
  • Provide quality management communication and associated quality training and providing management with periodic status/issue review

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or equivalent field
  • Eight years of related engineering experience (preferably aerospace or national security space programs), with emphasis in quality engineering, systems engineering, and project management
  • Experience developing technical procedures, manuals, processes, and incorporating quality improvements relative to technical processes
  • Working knowledge of quality systems (e.g., ISO 9000, AS9100,), quality related training and certification
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, organize, and prioritize tasks and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with management and peers
  • Experience should exhibit continual examples of innovation, creativity, and initiative
  • Outstanding oral communication and writing skills are required
  • Secret level security clearance, or ability to obtain it


Preferred
  • Familiarity with risk management, mission assurance, and knowledge management
  • An advanced degree in a related field


Requirements for Senior Project Leader

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or equivalent field
  • Twelve years of related engineering experience (preferably aerospace or national security space programs), with emphasis in quality engineering, systems engineering, and project management
  • Experience developing technical procedures, manuals, processes, and incorporating quality improvements relative to technical processes
  • Working knowledge of quality systems (e.g., ISO 9000, AS9100,), quality related training and certification
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, organize, and prioritize tasks and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with management and peers
  • Experience should exhibit continual examples of innovation, creativity, and initiative
  • Outstanding oral communication and writing skills are required
  • Proven record of leading projects to successful completion by effectively working with senior leadership, stakeholders, and peers
  • Demonstrated experience of working with inter-organizational groups to identify and integrate technical and business process improvements
  • Secret level security clearance, or ability to obtain it


Preferred
  • Familiarity with risk management, mission assurance, and knowledge management
  • An advanced degree in a related field
