Senior Director, Business Development - CRO (Remote)

Overview

The Senior Director, Business Development (SDBD) effectively identifies and pursues new CRO business opportunities while enhancing relationships with existing clients of Advanced Clinical. The SDBD keeps abreast of industry trends, competitors’ services and acquisitions, and works in conjunction with the operations team to develop and respond to new business opportunities. The SDBD is responsible for the achievement of sales goals specifically for CRO services. He/she will be responsible for directly generating business leads, sales prospects, capability meetings/presentations and RFPs in order to achieve maximum sales and revenue goals. This individual will collaborate with marketing, sales support, project management, bids and proposals and other support organizations to drive CRO sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Achieve CRO individual sales goals
• Secure new client relationships in order to expand client base, build awareness
• Develop and maintain long-term client relationships to ensure repeat business
• Achieve, monitor, and track sales including weekly reporting on sales activities, capabilities presentations, RFPs and other sales related data
• Plan, strategize and deliver presentations
• Champion the development and delivery of client requested RFIs and RFPs
• Enter all client information, conversations and activity in eRecruit or applicable systems
• Manage internal and external client relationships
• Track drug development pipelines, within territory, in order to ensure sales success
• Adhere to Advanced Clinical employee handbook and SOP’s
• Adhere to strict code of confidentiality as it relates to study subjects, sponsors, physicians, and policies and procedures of Advanced Clinical
• Provide excellent customer service to all parties involved in the clinical study process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare related field
  • 5+ years sales within a CRO (preferred) and/or clinical trials environment
  • Strong presence and confidence during presentation to customers
  • Strong relationships within pharmaceutical, biotech and/or device companies
  • Knowledge of the industry, competitors, and sales benchmarks
  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales goals in a clinical service environment
  • Proven business development experience in cultivating and nurturing key relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
