Wireless Test Engineer Job Responsibilities
Design test plans, procedures, scenarios, and scripts to accurately assess new products or software updates according to customer requirements and company policies.
Develop testing protocol for various aspects, such as usability, error and bug finding, regression testing, and implementation scenarios.
Identify, analyze, and create detailed records of problems that appear during testing, such as software defects, bugs, functionality issues, and output errors, and work directly with software and hardware developers to find solutions and develop retesting procedures.
Track problems, resolutions, and bug fixes throughout testing and create a comprehensive database of defects and successful mitigation techniques.
Create detailed, step-by-step documentation of test procedures for each phase or project as needed to ensure replicability, compliance with standards, and growth of company knowledge base.
Communicate clearly and effectively with test personnel, users, developers, and clients to facilitate quick resolution of problems and accurate documentation of successes.
Provide frequent feedback to HW/SW developers and Product team, including recommendations for improvements, evaluation of problems, potential solutions, and discussion of further test requirements.
Design and implement automated testing tools when possible, and update tools as needed to ensure currency and accuracy.
Create and Manage Field Test Plans, review results, recommend changes and opportunities to improve the product
Travel - Domestic travel as required to meet the business objectives

Job Skills & Qualifications
EE/CS Masters degree or equivalent work experience
7 to 10 years of experience in a software test, system test, or field test role in the wireless industry
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to write and speak fluent English is required.
Self-starter and highly motivated.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle
Strong understanding and experience in testing embedded devices, particularly for IoT devices. (Experience in testing security control panels and peripherals is a plus)
Proficiency in TCP/IP and networking.
Exposure to programming and shell scripting.
Has the ability to adapt and work through a number of priorities in a dynamic environment.
Prior experience working with key wireless providers such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility, Sprint, or T-Mobile
Advanced IP internetworking knowledge; LTE, EPC, L2, L3, UDP, TCP, HTTP, IP, Ethernet
Experience and technical knowledge of Qualcomm MSM/FSM/CSM Platforms and Tools.
Experience and technical knowledge of Qualcomm Tools; QXDM, QCAT, QPST, QDART
Experience and technical knowledge of 3GPP UMTS/LTE CATM1
Experience and technical knowledge of 3GPP2 IS2000 1xRTT,, EVDO
Experience with other wireless protocols - 802.11, Bluetooth, Zigbee
Experience and technical knowledge of Nutaq & Amarisoft micro base station
Knowledge of subscriber subsystems including but not limited to Home NodeB/eNodeB and Femto/MicroCell functions.
Knowledge and Experience with IMS/VoLTE/VoWIFI Client Application validation
Experience with SMB/SOHO Security Platforms - home/small office/business security platforms and sensors is a plus
Knowledge of IPSec and IKE protocols is a plus.
Knowledge of TR-069 is considered an asset.
Knowledge of Wireshark is required.
Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash) for test automation
Experience and knowledge regarding embedded operating systems (Linux, VXWorks)
Experience and knowledge of Wireless Test Equipment - Rhode & Schwarz, Keysight, Agilent, Spirent, Tektronix, etc
Experience with general Test Equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Protocol/Network Analyzers, and another general bench equipment
