Staff Accountant

Our client in Arlington, VA is looking for a bright, motivated Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This is role is ideal for undergraduate rising juniors or seniors pursuing a degree in accounting notably for a public company with a global presence. Candidates working toward CPA are also encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the monthly close by preparing month end reconciliations and journal entries for general ledger accounts
  • The Staff Accountant will assist with review and approval of journal entries prepared by the affiliated companies
  • Assist with A/P and A/R tasks
  • The Staff Accountant will maintain Fixed Asset ledger including depreciation and reconciliation to the general ledger
  • Manages accounts payable/disbursement
  • The Staff Accountant will assist in the annual audit process - create PBC schedules and provide backup support as requested by auditors
  • Other back-office support as assigned by the Director of Accounting


  • Pursuing a BS/Master degree in accounting, or economics
  • Strong academic performance, minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0
  • Proven team player and ability to work independently while managing multiple project assignments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent and demonstrated problem-solving abilities
  • Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Highly proficient in Excel and MSOffice applications
  • Knowledge of accounting software
