Senior Revenue Recognition Accountant

Responsibilities:

Perform monthly and quarterly revenue recognition analysis using ASC606 over-time and point-in-time accounting to ensure revenue and cost are accurately stated

Maintain individual revenue and cost tracking by contract on ASC606 over-time accounting covered items

Coordinate and support SOX revenue recognition activities

Review contract in draft negotiation stages for revenue recognition implications and provide guidance and direction to functional departments to ensure optimal revenue recognition

Work closely with members of the finance, operations, customer service and engineering team to ensure processes are consistent

Coordinate ad-hoc projects as necessary

Support internal and external audit activities

Committed to continuous improvement activities

Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations

Support the organization functional departments as appropriate

Coordinate quarterly SOX reviews

Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, margins)

Draft revenue recognition policies and communications

Other duties as may be requested.

Experience/Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or Finance

3 - 4 years of manufacturing cost accounting experience in a standard cost environment

CPA or CPA candidate is a plus and MBA or CMA a plus

Prior Big-4 public accounting experience is preferred.

Skills/Requirements:

Strong knowledge of Microsoft office including advanced skills in Excel

Prior experience with Oracle

Experience with cost accounting

SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

A highly productive self-starter with very strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Strong accountability and detail oriented; prepares accurate and timely work product.

Strong communication, presentation, leadership, interpersonal, planning and problem-solving skills

Must have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles
