Payroll Specialist

Our client located in downtown Chicago has an immediate opening for an experienced Payroll Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for someone that has 3-6 years working as a Payroll Analyst. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with multiple systems regarding US and Canadian payroll implementations and upgrades. Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for initial lead for Ceridian payroll upgrade for US and Canadian employees
• Verify all payroll entries including deductions, earnings and changes, review and reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies as necessary
• Assist with implementation, verification and testing
• Organize and verify any additional data for final payroll runs prior to processing of W-2s, and process W-2 corrections as appropriate
• Work directly with Payroll, IT and Finance regarding the initial system implementation and/or upgrade
• Create and run reports as requested by internal and external contacts (Pension, 401k, Workers Comp, audits, etc)
• Full knowledge of all Federal, State, Local Canadian tax accounts is required and miscellaneous special projects or additional tasks as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred
• 3 - 5 years of payroll experience
• 3 - 5 years of recent experience with payroll system implementations and upgrades
• CPP is a plus
• US & Canadian payroll processing
• Proficient in multiple payroll systems, Ceridian is highly preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
